....surely, there must be something that those of us who stayed out of debt and frugally 'nursed' our retirement nest egg, can do to, at least, minimize the negative impact (for ourselves & children) of "The End of the World As We Know It"?
I've been reading and understanding the reality of what you describe for nearly two years now, and despite searching - have yet to find even one suggestion for any kind of plan (with the exception of full on 'doomer' prep/bunker buying) which might be achievable by those of us with advanced warning of the coming war and probable effects.
I've actually come to the point of wishing there were some way that I could convince my husband that we and our daughter should emigrate to Russia.
I know that feeling well, Carol. I've also tried to persuade my wife for us to leave the West, to no avail. What we're doing at our house is just trying to secure our basic needs in a way not visible to those around us: water, food, energy and sundry supplies. I pray about it often, of course. People with greater means might look to have a bug out location prepared, although I'm skeptical such a plan would work smoothly.

In addition, the official pointed out that it was very important to integrate the economy of the military bloc into the country's economy in order to meet the dynamics.
